I want to install hdf libraries in intel fortran compiler. When contacted the hdf group support, I recieved a response from them which essentially said that the libraries can be installed only on Intel Fortran Compiler version 9 and Visual Studio 2005, as some of the dll's may not get installed in the latest version of Intel Fortran Compiler version 10. Can you please mail me the link to download Evaluation copy of Intel Fortran Compiler version 9 along with license file for installation of evaluation copy.
Also please mention the cost of the same with discount (if any) for Academic Institute. I find the response you received very strange, as the combination of Intel Visual Fortran 9 and Visual Studio 2005 was never supported. You can request an evaluation of version 10.1 and install that. You must already have Visual Studio 2003, 2005 or 2008 installed in order to install the evaluation version. I suggest trying that with your HDF library and see if it works.
If it doesn't, you can ask for help here or through Intel Premier Support which is available to you once you register the evaluation license. If version 9 is truly needed, it can be provided afterward, but it does not work with VS2005. Can you post the actual response you received?
Install Intel® Visual Fortran Compiler 9.1. The Intel® Visual Fortran Compiler 9.1 can coexist with lower-numbered versions of the Intel Fortran compiler, but only one compiler's version of the Visual Studio integration can be installed.
I downloaded the hdf dlls about a year ago and I got them to workwith Intel 9.1. However, it took me many emails before Idiscovered that they had compiled the dlls with 'cvf' calling convention. This was not documented anywhere that I could find. So be aware of that.
I suggested that they should switch to the Intel default convention (and maybe they have by now), but if they haven't, more users suggesting it might help. Steve I'm currently using visual studio 2005 and Intel 9.1 (at least that what it shows under the Helpabout menu), so I don't understand your comment regarding that. Quoting - I would like to download an evaluation version of the Intel Fortran Compiler version 10.1 or older b/c I need it to use with the Mathworks Matlab Mex compiler which is compatible only with 10.1 or older. I do have a license for an Intel Fortran Compiler on Linux. Is there any way I can download an eval copy of IFC 10.1? Orion Parrott It seems likely that a newer compiler would work, if 10.1 is supported, even though the newer compiler may not have been available at the time your Mathworks was developed.
If an evaluation license gives you an opportunity to try an older compiler, the procedure would be the same; register your serial number at and see what versions are available to download.

Cluster Edition addscluster tools: Intel Cluster Checker, an expert system foranalyzing cluster diagnostics, Intel Trace Analyzer and Collectorfor MPI tuning and analysis, and the Intel MPI Library. Intel announced the release of Intel Parallel Studio XE2018, with updated compilers and developer tools. Thisrelease of the fully supported product is notable with new featuresthat further enhance the toolset for accelerating HPCapplications. One of those new features worth taking a look at is ApplicationSnapshot in Intel VtuneTM Amplifier, which gives you a quick lookat an application’s performance profile to see how well, or badly, optimized it is for the latest hardware. This performance snapshotgives easy-to-understand displays of various metrics, including CPUutilization, memory operations and stalls, FPU utilization, MPI andOpenMP parallelism, and I/O efficiency. It also givesrecommendations for further analysis, and supports Intel MPI,MPICH, and Cray MPI.
Application Snapshot gives immediate feedbackto help determine if an application needs performance tuning. The compilers have been updated to generate highly optimized codefor Intel Advanced Vector Extensions 512 (Intel AVX-512)instructions for Intel Xeon and Xeon PhiTM processors. Intelfollows programming language standards very closely, includingdrafts not yet official.
Intel compilers support full C11, C14,and the draft C17 standards. Also, the suite includes ParallelSTL.
for parallel and vector execution of the C Standard TemplateLibrary. Both full Fortran 2008 and the draft Fortran 2015 standard aresupported, as well as the Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 shell. TheC/C/Fortran compilers not only implement the latest OpenMP 4.5shared memory parallelization specifications, but many of theproposed 5.0 features as well. Intel continues to demonstrate its commitment to scientific Pythonwith this release of Intel Parallel Studio XE 2018.
This“accelerated” Python distribution uses optimized memory managementand libraries (including the Intel Math Kernel Library) to takeadvantage of the latest multicore and vector hardware. Up to 20xperformance improvements have been noted. The 2018 release also adds new, broader redistribution rights forIntel Performance Libraries and Intel Distribution for Python.
